Sharer & Associates Inc., a New Jersey-based firm that provides insurance, financial planning, and related services to families and business owners throughout the Forked River area, is embarking on a charity effort in conjunction with the Family Promise of Southern Ocean County to provide homes for homeless families.

Family Promise of Southern Ocean County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting families facing homelessness by helping them move toward self-sufficiency. Services provided by Family Promise include temporary and emergency shelter, hot meals, toiletries, cleaning supplies and other critical items families need.

“Family Promise has been providing for families at risk of homelessness in our area for years, and we’re proud to be working to support their ongoing efforts,” says Donn Sharer, co-owner of Sharer & Associates. Sharer’s partner, Bob Considine, says “Providing meaningful help to families in our region that are in danger of becoming homeless is everyone’s responsibility.”

Sharer and Considine, along with their professional team, are working to promote the Family Promise charity event by connecting with families and business professionals throughout the region over email and social media platforms. Nearly half a dozen charitable organizations and nonprofit foundations in the Millstone Township region has received assistance from Sharer, Considine, and their team over the last year. As affiliates of the nationwide “Agents of Change” charity support group, the team plans to work with a new regional charity bimonthly.
